REVIEW

1.EARTH

The Earth is the only planet in the solar system with life on it because it has all the physical conditions that most living things need to survive.

• Firstly, all living things need oxygen and carbon dioxide. There´s oxygen in the planet´s atmosphere.

• Secondly, living things need water and this exists in the planet´s hydrosphere.

• Finally, all living things need sunlight and a moderate temperature. The Sun provides sunlight and the atmosphere protects the Earth from the Sun´s dangerous rays.

2.LAYER OF THE EARTH.  

TROPOSPHERE Most of the gases and water vapour are in this layer.

STRATOSPHERE This layer contains the ozone layer

MESOSPHERE This layer is the coldest.

3.GEOSPHERE

4.EARTH CRUST

WEATERING

Occurs when natural processes break rocks into smaller pieces. It can be caused by rain, freezing temperatures…

EROSION

Can happen after weathering. During this process, moving water or wind move pieces of weathered rocks or soil to a different place.

IGNEOUS

Form when liquid magma cools. Igneous rocks can form inside or outside the Earth´s crust.

SEDIMENTARY

Wind and water weather igneous rocks, and small rock particles are formed. These small rocks particles often form a sediment on the bottom of the oceans and lakes.

The upper layers of rock particles and mineral compress the lower layers and form sedimentary rocks.

METAMORPHIC

Heat and pressure deep inside the Earth can change igneous or sedimentary rocks into metamorphic rocks.
